The spindly Candaroma thorn bushes used for arches
Farola Beach stretches on a north-south orientation that is bounded by Barangay Tarangotong towards the southern boundary and Dardarat towards the northern boundary. Even with other Barangays in close proximity, Farola Beach stretches for wide open kilometers on end.
You will find stretches of very clean, small, and polished pebbles. You can walk barefoot on the fine sand and ford the shallows where the waves break.
The beach has a picnic area built from the candaroma bush growth rimmed by healthy bull rushes and grasshopper grass.
Make sure to bring your own drinking water. At present there are no barbecue pits built so if you plan to do some cooking, you will have to set up your own stove and grill. A word of caution and for safety: make sure all fires are extinguished properly before leaving the picnic area. Also be careful of the candaroma bushes. This plant has long, sharp thorns that can penetrate even sandals. Make sure you have proper protection for your feet.
